Five Exceptional Ways to Get More Page Views On Your Blogs

how to get more page viewsThere are a gazillion of blogs out there.
What’s the reason for me to read your blog?
Why should I increase your page views?
If you can answer the above two question – you are almost done in building a great blog that matters.
Here are few surefire ways to get more page views on your blogs..

#1. Create posts that stand for something

Let me ask you a simple question – why do you want to increase page views on your blogs if your blog traffic don’t covert?
There’s no reason in reading your blogs and increasing page views without having great content. If people love your stuff, they will definitely spread the word.
Make your blog posts sharable. Don’t care about the posting frequency if you are new to blogging. Just focus on giving the top notch quality to get more out of your blogs.
The #1 reason most bloggers read ANY blog is this: they want either entertainment or education. Try to use humor in your posts to get more attention from the fellow bloggers. After all, you are not a robot to write your stuff only for the sake of search engines.

#2. Start a series post on your blog

Break up a long post and use it as series of posts.
This results in two major things, one is – you will get more page views and the other is you will get more response.
But how can you start a series post to get more attention?
Don’t start a series post without proper planning. First, get to know your readers. Use free tools like Survey Monkey or your email list to ask them what they are expecting from your blogs. It becomes easy once you know what your readers REALLY want.
Here’s the deal: write a detailed post and break into small into small pieces normally with 600 to 700 words. This will help you get more attention, page views, readership and links to your posts.
When I first tried a series post on LBT (my major blog), I got so many links from other bloggers not just because I’ve so many connections with other bloggers, but because the topic was awesome. Try to follow the same rule – pick the best topic that serves your readers in the long run.

#3. Show related posts

This is a no brainer – if you want to increase page views on your sites, display related posts. If you have attention grabbing headlines on your posts, most people will be ready to read more stuff from you.
And I must say the more longer a visitor stays on your site, the more authority you can gain from them within few minutes.
For those who are using WP as their CMS, the following are the best plugins to show related posts right under each and every post.
Link Within: LinkWithin is a blog widget that appears under each post, linking to related stories from your blog archive.
YARPP: I must admit that this is one of the most used related post plugin all over the blogosphere. It displays a list of related entries on your site and feeds based on a unique algorithm. Now with thumbnail support built-in!
nRelate: Another great plugin to display your related posts.
Slider: I personally use this on my blogs as I REALLY believe showing one post at a time works way better than displaying a bunch of posts (I a firm believer of less is more concept!)

#4. Boost longevity of old posts by interlinking

Interlinking will help you in two ways.
  1. It gives your readers more visibility to read your old stuff
  2. Interlinking improves search engine rank factor (do use anchor text with proper keywords to rank better!)
Enough said!

#5. Show excerpts in home pages and display your BEST stuff

Don’t display whole posts in the home page it will create burden on your databases and it will slow down your loading time. Moreover most people don’t find it easy to scroll down to your bottom of the page.
Use excerpts – whenever it reaches particular limit (or break down the content after 2 paragraphs), break it. It improves your page views certainly!
Show your most popular posts to your visitors – this is another way of quickly building a great impression on the first time visitors. If they love your posts, they will become life time fans no matter what.
